
John T. Coli

John T. Coli has been a member of the Teamsters Union since 1971. He was appointed to the Executive Board of Local 727 in 1981 and has served as the Secretary-Treasurer since 1992. From 1989 to 1992, he served as a prosecutor and administrative law judge for the Illinois Secretary of State. First appointed to Joint Council 25’s Executive Board in 1997 as a Trustee, he was later appointed Board President in 2002, with re-election in 2004 and 2008. John is currently a Trustee for the Local 727 Health and Welfare Fund, Pension Fund, Parking Industry Labor Management Committee, and Legal and Educational Assistance Fund. He has served on the Executive Board of the Chicago Federation of Labor since 2003. John was appointed to the Board of Directors of Amalgamated Bank in 2004 and elected to the Teamster General Executive Board as a Central Region Vice President in 2006. John earned his bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University and his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Thomas W. Stiede

Thomas W. Stiede has been a member of Local
703 since 1977. He joined the Teamsters while
working as a warehouseman for the local’s largest employer, Dominick’s grocery stores. In 1993, Stiede and several other active members ran as a slate for the Local 703 Executive Board, winning every office. He now holds the position of Secretary-Treasurer and is a plan manager for Local 703’s trust funds. Stiede also worked with the Teamsters Volunteers in Politics and is serving his second term on the Joint Council 25 Board.

Terrence J. Hancock
Vice President, Joint Council 25
President, Local 731
Terrence J. Hancock joined the Teamsters in 1979 as a rank-and-file semi-dump tractor/trailer chauffeur. In 1989, he was appointed as a Business Representative of Local 731, rising to Secretary-Treasurer by 1997. IBT General President James P. Hoffa appointed Hancock as an International Representative to the Construction Division in Washington, D.C. in 1999. Rank and file of Local 731 elected Hancock President in 2005. The following year, Hoffa appointed him as Central Region Coordinator of the International’s Solid Waste, Recycling and Related Industries Division. In 2007, Hancock was elected as a Trustee of Joint Council 25. In 2008, he was elected as Recording Secretary before becoming Vice President. Hancock has been appointed to the Executive Board of the Chicago Federation of Labor, the Board of Directors of the Italian American Labor Council and the Illinois Teamsters. He has currently attained more than 29 years of service as a member of Local 731.

Brian Meidel
Recording Secretary, Joint Council 25
President, Local 734
Brian Meidel joined the Teamsters Union in 1975 as a member of Local 734 in Chicago. He worked as a warehouse worker at Mary Ann Baking Company. From 1975 until 1983, Meidel worked as a driver for Gonnella Bread, Clyde’s Donuts and Entenmann’s. While at Entenmann’s, he served as a steward for Local 734. Meidel was appointed to the position of Local 734’s Secretary-Treasurer in 1983, and served 12 years in that position. Since 1995, Meidel has held the office of President. Meidel heads the Bakery Drivers Local 734 Welfare Fund and Pension Fund. Meidel also held the position of committee member of Teamsters Volunteers in Politics from 1998 to 2007. He joined the Joint Council 25 Executive Board in 2008.

Stephen E. Pocztowski
Trustee, Joint Council 25
Secretary-Treasurer, Local 705
Stephen E. Pocztowski joined Teamsters Local 705 as a part-time employee at United Parcel Service on June 3, 1974. Two years later, Pocztowski became a driver for UPS and started getting more involved with his local, including becoming a steward in 1981. He joined the staff of Local 705 as a Business Agent in 1994, and won the position of Elected Business Agent in 1995. In 1997, Pocztowski was elected to the Local 705 Executive Board as Trustee. Six years later, he ran for the position of Secretary-Treasurer and, for the first time in Local 705’s history, beat the incumbent. He resides as the Fund Chairman on the Teamsters Local 705 Health and Welfare and Pension Funds. Pocztowski was appointed to the Joint Council 25 Teamsters Volunteers in Politics in 2005 and served until 2007. He joined the Joint Council 25 Executive Board as a Trustee in 2008.

James T. Glimco
Trustee, Joint Council 25
President, Local 777
James T. Glimco joined the Teamsters Union in 1989 as a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 777. He was appointed Vice President of Local 777 in 1992. Since 1993, he has held the position of President of Local 777. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for both the Teamsters Local 777 Health Benefits Plan and the Local 777 Retirement Plan. In 2008, he joined Joint Council 25 as a Trustee. Glimco earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business administration in finance from Benedictine University.

Michael B. Haffner
Trustee, Joint Council 25
Secretary-Treasurer, Local 301
Michael B. Haffner joined the Teamsters in 1974 as
a member of Local 301 in Waukegan. Originally initiated into the union as a driver, Michael has held numerous positions as a Teamsters officer since 1989. He has served as Local 301's Secretary-Treasurer since 2005 and is currently the Chairman of its Health and Welfare Pension Fund.
In 2008, he was appointed to Trustee of Joint Council 25.
