Construction Trade Teamsters Ratify Three-Year Agreement

Local 786 Secures New Wages for Roofing, Sheet Metal Workers

More than 20 construction workers represented by Teamsters Local 786 are enjoying renewed workplace protections after ratifying a three-year contract on Jan. 11, 2012.

The Teamsters at Allied Building Products in suburban Oak Forest and Schaumburg secured wage increases for each year of the agreement. The contract also improves worker rights in the grievance procedure while maintaining all other health and welfare and retirement benefits.

“Local 786 represents thousands of workers in the construction trades, and we work hard to make sure every single member receives a good contract,” said Michael L. Yauger, Local 786 President. “These Teamsters are some of the most talented and reliable professionals working in construction today.”

The Allied workers are skilled in custom roofing and sheet metal applications for residential and commercial construction projects. Allied employs more than 3,000 workers nationwide at more than 180 locations.

Teamsters Local 786 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, which represents more than 100,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois and northwest Indiana.
