Hyatt Regency O’Hare Workers Ratify Five-Year Agreement
Contract Includes Raises for Local 727 Members at Rosemont Hotel
Teamsters Local 727 shuttle drivers, bellmen and valets at Hyatt Regency O’Hare ratified a new five-year contract this month with raises, more paid time off and improved working conditions.
“This is a great way to start off the New Year—with a strong new contract,” said John Coli Jr., Local 727 President. “The Teamsters worked quickly to reach an agreement that will bring security and improvements to our members over the next five years.”
In addition to wage increases in the final four years of the contract, Local 727 representatives were able to secure an extra sick/personal day and increased bereavement time off for the 37 members at the Rosemont hotel.
“I have been on many bargaining committees over the years, and I am always impressed with the way this union conducts itself,” said 35-year bellman Curt Ziedrich, who also serves as a Local 727 Trustee. “We have total faith in our union, and we know Local 727 will always fight for us.”
Teamsters Local 727, an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, represents more than 6,200 members, including shuttle drivers, bellmen, valets and housekeepers at dozens of hotels throughout the Chicago area.
