Apply Now for Cheryl Johnson Teamster Women’s Scholarship

Applications Accepted Until May 2012 for Assistance From Women’s Caucus

Children of active or retired Teamster members are encouraged to apply for the Cheryl Johnson International Teamsters Women’s Caucus Scholarship.

The International Teamster Women’s Caucus (ITWC) awards two $500 scholarships annually to high school seniors based on academics. Males and females are eligible.

“This is just another example of how the union supports its members and their families,” said John T. Coli, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25. “I sincerely hope all of our members from each local affiliate take advantage of this great opportunity.”

To apply, DOWNLOAD and complete the application, including the following information:
* An official high school transcript, which includes class rank and GPA;
* GED certificate and applicable records OR SAT or ACT results; and
* Proof of Teamster parent/guardian membership status.

In addition, applicants must attach an essay of 500-750 words on the following topic: “How can unions motivate our youth and women in particular to become involved in the union?”

Completed applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2012.
