Joint Council 25 Joins Others Onstage at National Convention

Honoring a century of service to working men and women in Illinois and Indiana, General President Jim Hoffa bestowed a plaque during the 28th National Convention upon Teamsters Joint Council 25 for its 100th anniversary.

John T. Coli, President of Joint Council 25, received the honor alongside three other Teamsters Joint Councils celebrating 100 years in 2011. Additional honorees included President Rome Aloise for Teamsters Joint Council 7 of California, President Marvin Kropp for Teamsters Joint Council 10 of New England and Secretary-Treasurer David W. Laughton for Teamsters Joint Council 13 of Missouri.

“On behalf of the Executive Board of Joint Council 25, we could not be more touched by the International’s commemoration,” said Coli. “We’re ready to carry this solidarity with us for the next 100 years.”

Throughout the weeklong National Convention, the 100th anniversary of Joint Council 25 was also celebrated in special video messages from Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and actors Kelsey Grammer and Daniel Baldwin.

Teamsters Joint Council 25 represents more than 100,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois and Indiana.
