Million Miles Driver Addresses Delegations at Convention

Local 673 Member Introduces Rock Singer, General President

Roy Lincoln has done something few others have ever done. That includes the thousands of devoted over-the-road Teamsters who traverse America each and every day.

Roy Lincoln has driven four million accident-free miles. And now, he's introduced one-time Rage Against the Machine troubadour Tom Morello.

On the first day of the 28th International Brotherhood of Teamsters National Convention, the longtime member of Teamsters Local 673 also had the opportunity to introduce General President Jim Hoffa and musician Morello to thousands of delegates on the convention floor.

"On behalf of Teamsters Joint Council 25, I applaud Brother Lincoln for his decades of flawless and tireless commitment to the Teamsters Union," said John T. Coli, President of Joint Council 25. "His accomplishment as a union driver stands alone, and we're so happy he could join his Teamster brothers and sisters at the National Convention."

Lincoln, a 44-year Teamster, proudly took the microphone on June 27, 2011, in a navy blue Joint Council 25 polo shirt. Reconvening the convention midday, Lincoln introduced Morello, a member of rock band Rage Against the Machine, who sang several acoustic, labor-friendly songs with delegates. Afterwards, the Local 673 member welcomed the Teamsters General President, who greeted the Chicago affiliate warmly onstage.

Earlier in the day, Lincoln also joined Hoffa, Coli and Ken Hall during Joint Council 25's daily luncheon with local affiliates.
