Holland Announces Plans to Hire Nearly 1,000 Drivers
Employment Opportunities for Drivers Available Across Illinois, Indiana
The economic recession has been very difficult for Teamster freight members, but some good news was announced this week. On March 21, Teamster-represented Holland, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, Inc., announced plans to hire nearly 1,000 drivers in 2011.
The company said it is building on a strong four-quarter performance and volumes are increasing.
“The Teamsters are always looking for new opportunities to keep Americans working and we applaud Holland for investing job at home,” said John T. Coli, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25. “In the Chicago area, Joint Council 25 represents thousands of city and over-the-road drivers. We’re excited about growing the Teamster family.”
Drivers interested in applying to join the Holland team should visit www.yrcw.com. Click on the Careers link and select Holland from the drop-down company box. The search functions allow applicants to access job openings by state or by searching available opportunities at Holland service centers in the Midwest and Southeast.
Holland currently employs more than 1,700 over-the-road drivers and more than 5,000 city drivers nationwide.
