WHEN: Sunday, May 8, 2011 (Mother's Day)
WHERE: Grant Park, Columbus Dr. at Balbo Ave., Chicago
After raising nearly $45,000 in charitable donations last year, the Teamsters will pack Grant Park for the Y-Me Race at Your Pace on May 8, 2011. Formerly the Breast Cancer Network of Strength, Y-Me will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year as it continues to support women, men and families battling breast cancer.
“As more and more people are diagnosed with this challenging disease, it’s never been more important for the Teamsters to remain active and support our brothers and sisters,” said John T. Coli, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25. “Our union is proud to join the Y-Me organization again this year and we encourage Teamsters across Illinois and Indiana to join us.
“When we walk in solidarity, nothing can defeat us.”
