Court Service Deputies Have Their Say
Local 700 Holds Meeting to Get Input for Contract Proposal
Teamsters Local 700 representatives conducted an open meeting with Cook County Court Service Deputies on Saturday, May 22, to field questions from members regarding upcoming contract negotiations.
Local 700 is creating a large bargaining committee for the 1,200-member CCCSD bargaining unit. The current contract expires Nov. 30, 2010.
“Communication is key. That’s how we create strength and unity,” said William P. Logan, Local 700 Assistant Trustee. “We want our members to be educated and informed so they are prepared to go to battle with us.”
Local 700 will hold another meeting with members before submitting a contract proposal to Cook County officials. Members have received collective bargaining agreement information surveys, which will be returned to their business representatives. These surveys allow members to actively participate in shaping their future and encourage input into the collective bargaining process.
Teamsters Local 700, an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, represents more than 13,000 public service employees throughout Illinois.
