Applications Now Accepted for Union Scholarships
Chicago Federation of Labor Scholarships Available
to Area Students
The Chicago Federation of Labor is offering 10 scholarships to high school students throughout the Chicago area as part of its 2010 William A. Lee Memorial Scholarship Awards.
The CFL is awarding five academic-based scholarships and five random-drawing scholarships of $2,000 apiece to students graduating from Chicago or suburban high schools. Students may apply in only one of the two categories and can submit applications now through March 1.

To be eligible, either the student or one of his or her parents must be a member of a local union affiliated with the Chicago Federation of Labor. All applications must be signed by one of the top two officers of the local union to which the student or his or her parent belongs.
All additional requirements are listed on the application, including criteria for judging the academic competition. Completed applications must be returned to the Chicago Federation of Labor, William A. Lee Memorial Scholarship Committee, 130 E. Randolph St., Suite 2600, Chicago, IL 60601. All applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2010.
Teamster local unions affiliated with the CFL include Teamsters Local 700, Local 703, Local 710, Local 727, Local 731, Local 734, Local 743, Local 754, Local 777 and Local 781.
