Lake County Lieutenants Become Teamsters
Sheriff’s Department Joins Law Enforcement Ranks
With Local 714
Voting unanimously to approve their first contract, the lieutenants of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department have joined the sergeants of Lake County Corrections and the Highway Patrol as members of Teamsters Local 714.
“The Teamsters congratulate the Lake County lieutenants for securing their first contract and fighting for better job security and equality in their workplace,” said Bill Logan, Local 714 Business Manager. “The union is eager to serve members in all facets of law enforcement and work with public servants as their strongest possible representatives.”
Among the protections of their union contract, the lieutenants now enjoy improved language regarding employee terminations and will begin receiving step increase pay raises, a new wage plan for the Sheriff’s Department. Bargaining unit members Bert Foster and Scott Robin were integral in working with the Teamsters to guarantee these and other advantages.
Teamsters Local 714 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, which represents more than 100,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois.
