White House Welcomes Teamsters for Christmas
Chicago Teamsters to Join President Obama in Washington for Annual Party
President Barack Obama is inviting his closest friends and colleagues to Christmas at the White House, and he’s saving seats for the Chicago Teamsters.
John T. Coli, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25, will journey with his wife to Washington this week, joining the President and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House Christmas Party on Friday, December 4.
“It’s an absolute honor to spend the holiday season with the President and First Lady,” said Coli. “This is a special opportunity for the Teamsters to reaffirm our longstanding support of President Obama and proudly embrace our traditions and friendships.”
Last week, the First Lady joined daughters Malia and Sasha Obama to accept delivery of the official White House Christmas tree. The 18-foot Douglas fir was grown on a tree farm in Shepherdstown, West Virginia by Eric and Gloria Sundback, who also raised the Christmas tree given to President Ronald Reagan in 1987.
Teamsters Joint Council 25 represents more than 100,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois.
