Teamsters Launch Nationwide Campaign to Organize FedEx Workers in Canada

of Teamster Campaign
Today, the Teamsters Union is launching a full-scale campaign to organize Canadian FedEx workers. FedEx is a global courier company with several thousand workers in Canada.
The Union’s campaign is in response to numerous calls from FedEx workers seeking the same working conditions and fair treatment as Teamster members of the other major Canadian courier companies.
“We are confident about organizing workers from this company,” explained Robert Bouvier, president of Teamsters Canada. “The time has come for the employer to respect and treat them fairly.”
Two informational websites have been introduced to assist the FedEx workers to participate in the Teamsters campaign. They are www.FedExWorkers.org (English) and www.CampagneFedex.org (French). Website visitors will be able to review comparative information on wages and working conditions in their industry in order to see for themselves the advantages of joining the Teamsters Union.
The Teamsters Union represents over 125,000 members in Canada including 14,000 Canadian workers in the courier industry. The Teamsters represent 1.4 million members across North America, including over 250,000 in the courier industry.
“We will not tolerate interference from the employer in the unionization process,” warned Mr. Bouvier. “We will be very vigilant for any attempts to prevent workers from exercising their legitimate right of association.”
