New Contract

Clerical Workers Gain Four Percent Wage Increase

Teamsters Local 714 secured a winning contract for clerical workers at the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust in Chicago. 

“We worked very hard to get our members the strong contract that they deserve,” said Aurelio Garcia, Teamsters Local 714 Business Agent.  “The members are very happy with the new contract, and the unanimous vote proves that.”

The new two-year contract includes:

• A four percent wage increase in 2008;
• 3.5 percent wage increase in 2009 and 2010;
• Additional strong language that ensures just cause for terminations; and
• Increased sick leave. 

The Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers oversees a five-year apprenticeship training program with 1,200 apprentices enrolled and a full-time faculty.

Teamsters Local 714, located in Berwyn, Illinois, represents approximately 8,000 members around the Chicagoland area.
