Teamsters Rally for Fulfillment Workers

Local 777 Continues Organizing Campaign for Box Company

The Teamsters rallied on Wednesday to show support for Temple Inland Devco fulfillment employees in Chicago, Illinois. On June 13, an election will be held for the workers to decide whether to join the Teamsters.

Teamsters Local 777 and Joint Council 25 gathered at Temple Inland Devco to talk to workers and hand out ice cream on the 85 degree day.

“This has been a unified group from the beginning and we are going to victorious on Friday,” said Martin Aspera, Teamsters Local 777 Organizer. “The workers need job protection, seniority rights and fair wages and benefits, and the Teamsters will help them fight for these issues.”

The fulfillment workers assemble boxes at one of Temple Inland’s facilities in Chicago.  Teamsters Local 777 already represents approximately 70 operators at that branch.

Temple Inland provides boxes and displays to businesses around the country. 

Teamsters Local 777 represents 2,000 members in the Chicagoland area.
