Teamsters Hispanic Caucus Attends Chicago Soccer Game

Chicago Chapter Continues Increasing Member Involvement

The Chicago Chapter of the Teamsters Hispanic Caucus hosted a tailgate party and attended a Chicago Fire soccer game at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on June 7 against the D.C. United.

More than 600 members and their families attended the Chicago Fire Game on June 7.

“This is a great way to get Hispanic Caucus members and their families together and watch a really great Chicago team,” said Chuck Baez, Chicago Teamsters Hispanic Caucus President.

Despite the Chicago Fire’s eventual loss, more than 600 members and their families attended the tailgate and game.  Teamsters International Vice President and Local 710 Secretary-Treasurer Pat Flynn, Local 703 Secretary-Treasurer Tom Stiede, Local 710 Business Agents and Joint Council 25 Organizers also attended the event.

Pat Flynn, Teamsters International Vice President and Local 710 Secretary-Treasurer, and Tom Stiede, Teamsters Joint Council 25 and Local 703 Secretary-Treasurer, attended the game.

“We would like to thank Joint Council 25 President John Coli for his support and for letting us use the Teamsters truck,” said Baez.  “It was great exposure for all the Teamsters and fun for the kids to climb in and blow the horn.”

The members’ children were also invited to play in a youth soccer game on the Chicago Fire field.

“Our focus at the Chicago Chapter is to grow our membership and increase union activity,” Baez said.  “Events like this are a great way to get members involved and to really feel a part of this great union.”

The Chicago Chapter of the Teamsters Hispanic Caucus was created to promote and assist the interests of Hispanic teamsters and the International Brotherhood of Teamster.  For more information, go to http://chicagoteamstershispaniccaucus.org
