Rally Held for McHenry Bus Drivers

First Transit Workers to Vote on Joining Teamsters Local 731

Teamsters from around the Chicagoland area showed their support for First Transit bus drivers in McHenry, Illinois. The drivers will decide whether to join Teamsters Local 731 in an election on April 4. 

Teamsters from around the Chicagoland area came to McHenry to show support for First Transit bus drivers on April 2.

“We are out here to show the First Transit workers that the Teamsters are here for them and ready to fight for their rights,” said Mike DiGrazia, Teamsters Joint Council 25 Organizing Director.  “The bus drivers have a very tough job, and as Teamster members they will receive the respect and fair treatment they deserve.”

There are 37 First Transit bus drivers at the McHenry hub.  The drivers work three routes throughout McHenry as well as supply paratransit services for the area. 

Teamsters Local 731 represents more than 6,400 members in the Chicagoland area working in the excavating, grading, asphalt, private scavengers, automobile salesroom, garage attendants and linen and laundry driver crafts.
