Teamsters Joint Council 25 Rallies for Eby-Brown Workers

Union Election to Be Held April 17

The Teamsters held a rally in Montgomery, Illinois on Wednesday to show support for Eby-Brown employees.  The members will vote on joining Local 754 on April 17. 

More than 200 Eby-Brown workers in Montgomery, Illinois will have the opportunity to vote to become a Teamster in the next four weeks.

“We want to join the Teamsters to have our voices heard and gain the support and resources of this strong union,” said Mike Mendez, a driver at Eby-Brown.  “This was a great rally, and we will definitely be Teamster members very soon.”

There are approximately 168 warehouse workers the Eby-Brown Montgomery facility. 

“This is a great group of motivated, hardworking people who are interested in making their jobs better—and the Teamsters will be able to help them,” said Ramon Williams, Teamsters Joint Council 25 Organizer.  “I am looking forward to welcoming them into the union on April 17.”

Eby-Brown workers Mike Mendez, Corey Jenkins, Dwight Proud, Angel Irizarry and Raymond Robinson attended the April 2 rally.

Another union election will be held for the 80 Eby-Brown drivers on May 2. 

Eby-Brown is a leading convenience store supplier and wholesale food distributor of more than 11,000 name brand products around the United States.  

Teamsters Local 754 is located in Elmhurst, Illinois and represents approximately 1,000 members in the Chicagoland area in dairy, processing, delivery and clerical industries. 

Teamsters Joint Council 25 is the governing body of 22 local unions in the greater Chicagoland area. The Joint Council assists its locals in coordinating Teamster activities, solving problems and organizing.
